Spend quite much time on it:
Reeded almost every post on this list does not helped...
Using Xorg radeon drivers with DynamicClock on my Gentoo box
No USB modules preventing C3, so the Processor uses C3 State, blanking the=
=20
screen whenever possible and using the lowest speedstep (600MHz) makes the=
=20
fan turning on less often but still looooog on (almost ever). Blowing cold=
=20
air out /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THM0/temperature ~32=B0 Celsius
(btw my old Thoshiba Satellite 3000-100 fan really only make noise when hea=
vy=20
load --> compliling something)
Cooling down with ice-spray to about ~19=B0 Celsius turns the fan off.
What to do now?
When I've some spare time I'll go through the Xorg-radeon sources and see.
But: Running WindowsXP the fan is really more often quiet then running on=20
Linux.=20
o ATI really should release some specs to cool this chip (M9) down.
