Niels,
You didn't say which graphics driver you were using, but I'd suggest
_if_ you're using the ATi drivers (for 3D etc.), that will be the
problem. Suspend-to-disk works fine for me with XFree/Xorg drivers
both in swsusp/2.6.8.1 or swsusp2/2.6.9, and persistently fails with
ATi drivers. Don't know if anyone has recently found a fix for this?
No solution leaps out at me from the list archives, so right now it
appears I need to choose between 3D and swsusp2.
If anyone running Fedora _does_ still want to try the ATi drivers,
there's now an easier way to do it than previous ugly forces of RPM
installs etc.:
http://bugzilla.livna.org/show_bug.cgi?id=211
It's likely this repackaging of the ATi drivers will be included in
the Livna repository soon - I've just tried the testing RPMs included
above, and they installed cleanly - had to tweak the SRPM a little to
rebuild it for 2.6.9, but it worked perfectly. Do bear in mind it's
still in test status though. There's also the possibility of leaving
it installed for occasional use (TVout etc.) but deactivating it with
the ati-fglrx-config-display command now, which is what I chose to do.
Just a pity swsusp2 breaks it.
Unrelated, but if anyone had trouble ripping CDs (pausing, hangs) with
the syslog error "cdrom: dropping to single frame dma" previously,
it looks like it's been fixed in 2.6.9 to me.
Hope this is useful to someone.
