Memory Type Range Register. It's there for speeding up graphics card=20
operations. You can find a lot of info on MTRRs=20
in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/mtrr.txt . Never ran into problems=20
like this myself, but I don't use anything other than standard VGA=20
since xterm/konsole are much more flexible than the ttys.

I find that having a pint or two is a good problem-solving technique.
