I admit i must have read README not so carefully as i thought i did.
Here is proper info:
1. ibm_acpi not loaded
Fn F3/F7/F12 - does not generate any entries in /var/log/acpid
Fn F4 - generates:
[Tue Sep 21 18:51:58 2004] received event "button/sleep SLPB 00000080 0000000c"
[Tue Sep 21 18:51:58 2004] completed event "button/sleep SLPB 00000080 0000000c"
2. after loading ibm_acpi but before enabling hotkeys everything is like
described above. As soon as I enable hotkey (just echo enable >
/proc/acpi/ibm/hotkey ) acpi events change into this:
Fn F3 :
[Tue Sep 21 19:02:53 2004] received event "ibm/hotkey HKEY 00000080 00001003"
[Tue Sep 21 19:02:15 2004] completed event "ibm/hotkey HKEY 00000080 00001003"
Fn F4 :
[Tue Sep 21 19:03:33 2004] received event "ibm/hotkey HKEY 00000080 00001004"
[Tue Sep 21 19:03:33 2004] completed event "ibm/hotkey HKEY 00000080 00001004"
Fn F12 :
[Tue Sep 21 19:03:50 2004] received event "ibm/hotkey HKEY 00000080 0000100c"
[Tue Sep 21 19:03:50 2004] completed event "ibm/hotkey HKEY 00000080 0000100c"
Fn F7 does not generate any entries in /var/log/acpid

I must have screwed something in IDE 'layer' cause i was unable to access
dvd-rom after reinserting I had to reboot to gain access again

There is no event in log file when i do:
echo eject > /proc/acpi/ibm/bay
cat /proc/acpi/ibm/bay
occupied: no
commands: eject
but LED goes off.
On inserting i get above mentioned entries in log and LED goes on but idectl
(actually hdparm) gives me: HDIO_SCAN_HWIF failed: Input/output error
Despite this i tried to mount dvd. At first try it spew errors that kernel
can't read sectors but eventually it started to work. Dunno why it didn;t
work before (will check this again a few times to get some more impresions
on it)

I'll send it in separate mail in a few sec.
