[ltp] No sound on A30 (2652 3CU) with Sarge

This might or might not be related...
Are you running KDE? After doing a dist-upgrade last week (I'm running
sid on my x30), my KDE was upgraded, and I lost sound... but only under
KDE.
The very first time I run KDE after boot, the KDE startup sound plays,
and that's the last sound I get (other than keyboard beeps). If I log
out of KDE and then login again, no startup sound on the second KDE
login.
After a reboot, if I run Gnome instead, sound works fine, even across
susp/resume, etc.
Dunno if this is useful, but thought I'd toss a clue your way, in the
hope that someone else will toss me one. 8*)
