No. Though it appears that maybe it does from the comments of the OP.
A possible workaround is to install WinXP natively on a partition and
then configure VMware to use the real installation (AKA raw disk).
Win2k is fairly good at dealing with differing real and virtual
environments. I expect that hasn't gone away in WinXP.
VMware shot me in the foot (and therefore a new sale/update) with the
gap between a beta version and the final version. I had a deadline to
meet in the gap, so I had to make a real installation of Win2k work.
Right now, I don't have a license for a recent version of VMware, so I
can't check.
