Then I assume you didn't work for Leeds University hospital.. on last
UKUUG conference there, when Anthony Stone was preparing for his talk on
wardriving (kismet + gpsdrive), he drove through the city center, found
some 320+ distinct networks, about 60% of which didn't use even WEP
(however futile that is). Two of the APs close to said hospital were
helpfully called Tomography and Epidemiology (plus some number I think).
And yes, they fell in the 60%.

The worst case Holywood scenario is clear: bad guys threataning to to
abort computer-assisted coronary operation of someone important using a
plain wireless laptop from the street. Comes Bruce Willis with
directional antenna to find them... shooting... fire... the city
completely destroyed... the important guy and his worried daughter meet,
leave about to live happily ever after using plain old wired Ethernet.
Willis is greeted by the U.S. president who popped in for a visit,
leaves on background of the flames and explosions. Networking in said
city secured for good. Credits.
