The high power consumption still occurs with me too.  Whether its using 
the fake X server trick or restarting X alltogether, i still have issues 
with it.

On another note, I may have mentioned this before, but I have issues 
with it deciding to turn itself off.  Previously, with APM it seemed 
that laptop had some predefined period where it would sense no activity 
at the keyboard or mouse and suspend to ram if no usage occurred.  Now 
with ACPI, it will just flat out turn off - no powering down no 
suspending.  I looked throughout the BIOS and dont see anything that 
would lead me to believe that it was a setting there, and there is 
nothing of the such in acpid or cpufreqd.  Any idea how to resolve this 
- or does this occur for you guys too?
