The trackpoint is great for "regular" mouse movement and especially for
selecting text, but the touchpad is damn convenient as a mouse wheel
substitute. If you use the Synaptics driver and move your fingertip
along the right or lower border of the touchpad you can scroll the
current window without moving the mouse pointer into the window's
scrollbar.
