[ltp] Unpleasant noise on T42p

I received something like this after applying radeon patches to 2.6.11.6
I removed them and rebuilt 2.6.11.6 and it went away. I'm not saying
the radeon patches are resposible, but something in the removal and
rebuild of the kernel seemed to fix the problem.
