Well I have DRI enabled - Xorg drivers.  I'm unsure what to run here,
as I don't use 3D a lot, but in a total unscientific first test
(other processes) running glxgears:

Start: GPU: 55 CPU: 49
After 5 mins: GPU:69 CPU:56

It seemed to kind of stabilise there.  glxgears seemed to take up
about 50% of CPU at the lowest frequency on my T40, 600MHz.  It's a
Radeon Mobility 9000 - I'm sure others with faster graphics chips
and more graphics-intensive apps could measure better.
