Well, you might want to re-think that attitude.

Free Software is only protected by the validity and enforceability of license 
and copyright.  This is not a statement of personal philosophy, it's a legal 
fact.  GPL code is always copyrighted, to exert legal protection, and the 
license dictates the terms that keep it free.

No license, no protection.
