Hmm, no, I don't know these things.  I have a the PDF userguide from the 
Lenovo site, but it largely says "refer to the Online Help".  Umm.

OK.  This is possible.  The fan does run, though it is quiet enough that 
only a wet finger by the vent determines it.

OK.

Quite warm - "hand-hot", I would say, about 60 deg Celcius.

Thanks for the tip.  For the purpose of poking around inside the case, do 
you know of a downloadable document or website where I can find the layout 
and, preferably, instructions for getting into it?  I'm no newbie to 
building/modding PCs, but I haven't done a laptop before.
