Hi Frank,
I'm not sure what your Question was.
1. Do you want to replace the internal HDD with the Hitachi?

2. Do you want to add this HDD to your System using the Ultra bay-Slim
HDD Adapter?
1. I do not know precisely, but AFAIK u only get a warning from your
BIOS that the HDD is not certified.
2. I'm using a Travelstar in the Ultra bay for Backup, so this should
be working for you too.
I got the HDD-Adapter with my Thinkpad for ~60euros.
