[ltp] hdparm & spindown time : still having problems

I just tried
hdparm -B128 -S18 /dev/hda
and I started as well to monitor :
vmstat 5 | cat -n
After 18 lines, ie the time set by hdparm, of inactivity,
nothing happens :)
I really wonder if it is a ubuntu-specific problem.
Something weird is that I used to get it to work few months ago ...
Btw, thank you a lot for your help, I can appreciate that we are not
many people having such troubles.
