By my calculations, 1024x768 at 6-bit color should only take up (1024 * 768
* 6/8) B = 589824 B = 576 KB if the video driver is packs the data, or (1024
* 768) B = 786432 B = 768 KB if it does not, leaving 448 KB or 256 KB for
caching.

Theoretically, 640x480 at 1-bit "color" requires only 640x480/8 B = 38400 B
= 37.5 KB (which should fit into the 64K it _does_ recognize), but I don't
know if that video driver will do it. That would at least make X usable.
