The above forum link describes the following:

1) How to upgrade a 600e (or 770) to any PIII mobile MMC-2.  The PIII wil=
l run=20
at the slow speed step rating.  Example a 750 PIII MMC-2 will run at 600 =
mhz
2) How to perform a simple hardware mod to set the front side bus to 108m=

3) How to get rid of the 127 error, once you have installed the PIII
4) How to disable the onboard memory if it can not handle 108 fsb mod.
5) How to enable the L2 cache in Windows.
