I'm not sure *why*, but i know that this is the same output i get on my
T30 using 2.6.10, and both my regular serial port (i use it to get
consoles on my sparc boxen no problem) and my IRDA port (used to
transfer images/files to/from my Ericsson T610 phone) work fine as ttyS0
and ttyS1 respectively.

At least on my T30, it is. I believe if you change the settings in the
BIOS you can get them to swap, if you really want them to.
