[ltp] t23 - ACPI or APM?

Hey folks,

I'm the proud new owner of a thinkpad t23.  I installed ubuntu on it 
this morning, and everything seems to be working ok except power management.

ACPI doesn't seem to want to do anything at all - echo "standby" > 
/sys/power/state does absolutely nothing.

I tried disabling ACPI and just using apm, but when resuming from apm -s 
all hell broke loose.  My keyboard was typing = by itself, and wouldn't 
respond to any other keypresses.

Anyone have a configuration or some advice that will work with this machine?
