Hi Nil (your message wasn't off list as intended),

Wrong, the xorg Relase _does_ now include power management features, as 
you can also see in the log output below (the dynamic clocks feature). 
My guess is, that maybe the new KDE has some more advanced spiffy 
graphic features that put a heavier burden on the graphics hardware and 
thus doesn't allow as much power saving as the earlier versions (just a 
guess, I don't use KDE)
