Similar problem running FC3 on a Thinkpad 770z. Sometimes the machine
fails to recognize a USB flash drive the second or third or fourth time
after pluuging and unplugging. On the other hand, USB finally correctly
recognizes an old 3.5" HD in a USB enclosure.
Seems to me, though, that the 2.6.10 kernel had a big USB update, so
these issues may be fixed. Then again, the first release candidate of
2.6.11 had another USB update, so maybe it's still being fixed.
