Ok I=92m new to this so=85

=20

I have a Thinkpad R50 model 1829 configured as a dual boot XP Pro and =
RH9 (2.4.20-8). I cannot set my hard drive to DMA mode using hdparm. =
It just says I ain=92t allowed. Having done a little research it would =
seem that I don=92t have DMA support enabled in the kernel. Apparently =
Linux cannot correctly identify the IDE controller. Any suggestions as =
to what (if anything) I can do about this.

=20

Nick.
