The only reason I would believe WOULD be harmful is if your T23 
transiently drained power in excess of what your AC adapter could 
provide and therefore partially drained the battery too, after which 
when power drain resumes the battery start a short recharge cycle (taken 
from granted that memory effect and number of allowed cycles are a 
problem we must cope with even with NiMH and Li- batts).

Not a very ikely scenario I believe.
