But you need a newer version of Borislav's ibm-acpi:
Disable the one in the kernel and compile & install at least 0.10 from:
http://ibm-acpi.sourceforge.net/
Give it the experimental=1 option during load and have a look into
/proc/acpi/ibm/thermal
