I installed this kernel on my T42p 2373-KUU running a fully up2date FC3
install.
It has the 128MB ATI Mobility T2 chipset.
Here is my report.
When I booted to this kernel, I saw the high resolution frame buffer
activate. All the boot messages scrolled by. So far so good. However,
when X tried to start to bring up the display manager login, the system
hung.
I powered off and rebooted, and this time booted to runlevel 3 so X
wouldn't start.
As root I ran: /usr/bin/thinkpad-T4x-suspend
My system did suspend OK. I waited a couple minutes then closed the lid
and opened it. My system unsuspended but I could not see anything on the
screen. I was able to blindly press CTL-ALT-DEL to perform a graceful
reboot.
Should I have expected this to work?
