All the recent talk about batteries made me do a little inventory of the
~ current state of my T21's various batteries. And after doing a little
research I came across www.batteryrefill.com, who claim to take your old
battery, open it up & replace the cells with brand-spankin'-new,
fresh-off-the-shelf, higher capacity ones. As they put it:
"IBM Thinkpad T20 model is over 3 years old and Li-Ion Cells have a
maximum 3 year shelf life. This means you are not getting 100% battery
capacity even if it is new and sealed in the box."
The cost for this (for my T21 main battery) is $59.99,
(http://www.batteryrefill.com/laptops/ibm/thinkpad_t20.phtml)
and I must say I'm tempted to send them my oldest, weariest battery to
check it out.
They say they offer a full 1 year guarantee, and that's more than I'm
gonna get on eBay- but before I go ahead I wondered if any of you had
any experience with them, good or bad?
If no-one tells me to stay away from them I'll give it a try and let
y'all know how it went.
