[ltp] Isthere a T41 or T42 model which NEVER has ACPI drain problems ???

So, I'm curious: I don't need that on my T42p.
Fn+F4 just turns off the LCD backlight nicely when S3 is sent to
/proc/acpi/sleep.
Was that needed for some older kernels that didn't do that (I have
2.6.10 and 2.6.10-ac10)
