I had to configure the screens in the BIOS appropriately to get dual
screen working. In particular, if I enabled any of the external monitors
in favor of the internal panel (e.g., LCD+DVI, or DVI) in the BIOS, xorg
would fail to bring up the internal monitor. I needed to set up the
internal LCD panel as the _only_ output device. Maybe you've got the
same issue.=20
