Dear all,
Today the battery in my Thinkpad R51 notebook exhausted right during the system shutdown.
I've got a system with HD light and ON light turned on, and yellow Battery light indicator.
When I've got power cord back, I recharched the battery. Unfortunately, FC4 do not want
to show login prompt. The system boots OK until the Login Screen stage. Then it just
shows nothing. No reaction to any key sequences.
Can anybody help me to fix that?
I am running FC4 with latest kernel (_390 AFAIR). No ACPI or APM - couldn't get it to work.
ibm-acpi is installed and Xosd , if it helps.
I also have 2.6.9 kernel from FC3 left in Grub menu. When I choose FC3 kernel,
it loads just fine and I can go to Gnome, all
services work OK.
I suspect there's a flag somewhere that forces FC4 to go to "sleep"-like mode.
Thank you in advance.
Oleg.
