IMHO, if it boots fine, it's "compatible" Not finding more memory is likely
either a BIOS bug or maybe the linux kernel doesn't have High Memory support
or something like that?

Can you try in windows?

I would do a BIOS update, even if the Centrinos support 2GB of RAM, maybe
that module was not exactly supported.
