This is my first ThinkPad. I went for a T42.

Design is great, really solid. I love the keyboard, and I write a lot 
using it.

Fast HD too

Now for the battery, I'm pretty disappointed. When X is running, the 
rate never goes below 26000 mWh (no DVD nor CD playing, just 4 
consoles and mozilla, no wifi), which leaves me less than 2 hours of 
autonomy. This is _really_ disappointing.
