[ltp] Thinkpad 600E: How to disable LCD off switch

Hi,

I am intending to use my old Thinkpad 600E as an in-car media unit while 
connected to a small 7inch VGA mointor. However, I would like to
operate the the lap-top with the LCD pannel closed (and off) but the
external VGA on.
I can set just the external VGA on using the Fn-F7 key but when I shut
the LCD panel the external VGA is turned off.

Does anyone know of a method of disabling the LCD off switch ?
Or perhaps re-enabling the external VGA when the LCD off switch
operates ?
