Hi Alex,
I tested your patch on a T43p, which has a ATI FireGL M24 GL 3154 (PCIE). I
checked out a CVS version of X.org yesterday, copied in your files and
applied the patch. Patching succeeded except for one rejected hunk in
radeon_driver.c that was easily to fix by hand.
Unfortunately dual head DVI (LVDS, TMDS) output still doesn't work yet. I do
not do MergedFB, just two screens (see attached xorg.conf). When I use a
(LVDS, TMDS) Monitorlayout, the LVDS screen comes up correctly, but the DVI
screen stays dark. I accidentially have a third screen attached to the CRT
port. This one surprisingly shows a fuzzy clone of the LVDS screen with
strange sync rates, even though it should stay dark according to the
Monitorlayout. Find the configuration file and the X.org log in
xorg.conf.lvds_tmds and X.org.0.log.lvds_tmds.
When I do (LVDS, CRT), LVDS works, but the CRT display shows coarse-grain
junk. Find the configuration file and the X.org log in xorg.conf.lvds_crt and
X.org.0.log.lvds_crt. This configuration works perfectly with the current
X.org 6.8.2 release by the way.
Has anyone succeeded in getting dualhead with the DVI work on a T43p? I
couldn't get it to work, neither with the X.org nor with the fglrx drivers.
I'd
be happy to test the X.org drivers on my box though.
