the blacklisted usb hcd drivers. that fixed it[1].

i suppose the thinkwiki people are hanging around here as well?
regarding http://www.thinkwiki.org/How_to_make_ACPI_work:
would it be a good idea to explicitly discourage use of 
echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep
in favor of a dedicated hibernate sleep.conf. like the configuration
files with e.g. the ibm-acpi package already suggests?

[1] am i the only one to feel like these drivers, since 2.6.x, do not
belong it the class of ones which tend to get better over time..?
