I have done the same thing during my debian installation. I have so
decided to send my T40 to IBM After Sales Service (in France) to
return to manufactory configuration but they answer to me that they
can't.

I haven't those 7 CDs, and when I have asking for the recovery CDs,
they send me only 4 CDs. I have test them and no IBM recovery
partition back :(
