Hello,
Find out the drive model. Then go to Pricewatch.com and search
for the cheapest price from a merchant you think you can trust.
Thinkpad drives are standard industry stuff only mounted in an
IBM "sled". Swapping the drive is a matter of swapping the sled to
the new drive and then replugging it. (After that you've got to
reinstall/configure the software, but that's been discussed here
many times.
Two items to be careful of when buying a new drive....
1) Each drive has its own power consumption and heat output.
Be sure that you're not sucking too much power or putting out
too much heat. You can check this by looking up the engineering
data on the original and replacement drives at the manufacturers'
sites.
2) Some drives are 12mm think, others 9.5 mm thick. Match the
thickness of the drive you're replacing.
Good luck.
