I'm trying to get acpi sleep to ram to not use a lot of power, might anyone
have any suggestions on what I might be missing?
I'm running linux 2.6.11.10 and XFree86 4.4 on a thinkpad T40 (2379-D6U,
this uses a radeon 9000 M9).
When I suspend to ram using the thinkwiki test script at
http://www.thinkwiki.org/index.php/ACPI_sleep_power_drain_test_script
it reports (for a 30-45min sleep):
Wed May 25 18:05:02 PDT 2005
before: 40010 mWh
after: 38250 mWh
diff: -1760 mWh
seconds: 2763 sec
result: -2293 mW
Your model seems to be affected.
The lcd's backlight is off during sleep. I am not using the patch at
http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3022 as I am not using the
kernel fb (I assume this only applies if one is).
Is there any software that I should upgrade? Does one need to use the kernel
radeon fb?
thanks!
