R50P-Model 1832-22G
I didn´t know that there are R50p out there witch don´t use the ATI Fire GL Card.
Anyhow here is my lspci line: ATI Technologies Inc M10 NT [FireGL MobilityT2] (rev 80)

Black means really black. It is not only that the backlight is turned off
(checked with radeontool), it is really black(dead).

The behavior witch I was describing was tested with:
Fedora Core 3
Kernel: kernel-2.6.9-1.724
	kernel-2.6.11-1.14
	kernel-2.6.11-1.27
Xorg: xorg-6.8.1-12
      xorg-6.8.2-1.FC3.13

always using the radeon driver. Never ever tested the prop. ati driver since they
don´t support suspend at all - witch I think is one of the most important features
when it comes to notebooks. In every configuration it behaves the same.
