[ltp] Adjusting display brightness

I've a T41 with a Radeon 9000.  Is it somehow possible to adjust display 
brightness from within LINUX (i.e. not with the obvious FN key 
combinations)?

Unfortunately, AFAICS things don't look too bright: ;-)

   > cat /proc/acpi/video/VID/LCD0/brightness
     <not supported>
