I will speculate here, and suggest that even though in deciding what to bot=

people who fix the GNU/Linux ACPI code aren't relying on a change IBM made.
Intending no personal disrespect, can you see that your (current, temporary=

inability to get ACPI working with GNU/Linux mitigates against relying on=20
your understanding of what's relevant?
I recommend you upgrade the BIOS so you are working with the same code as t=
he=20
people who are writing the GNU/Linux ACPI support - that's what they are=20
basing their fixes on.
And there is no other way to be sure about it - speculation !=3D reality.
