[ltp] fglrx, DVI, cloned

Does anyone have an external DVI monitor cloned with the LCD panel 
(using the fglrx driver)? Currently, I have this working with the 
external VGA socket but would like to use the DVI socket.

My attempts resulted in an amazing crisp display on the external DVI 
panel but the LCD panel on the thinkpad was distorted (the bottom half 
of the panel was dark) and at a lower than the native 1600x1200 resolution.

Any hints?
