This may be the point why the suspend was not working on 2.6.14
kernel. As far as I know, if the i915 code is not loaded, the
acceleration does not work. However, you can work with OpenGL
anyway, just the load goes on the main CPU - you can try with
glxgears - I get about 500 fps and 100% CPU load without and
about 1000 fps and just moderate CPU load with acceleration.
