For what it's worth, there are two 100GB 7200 RPM laptop PATA drives
on the market -- Seagate's Momentus 7200.1 and Hitachi's 7K100. Both
come in SATA and PATA varieties (and the Hitachi comes in smaller
sizes too). It looks like they're $300+.(There's also a 120GB 5400
RPM Seagate Momentus 5400.2 model).
I put a Hitachi 7200 100GB in my T42p and the hdparm performance is a
bit better than the 60GB/7200RPM drive it replaced, but the real-world
performance doesn't seem substantially better. It also seems a little
louder. But hey, 100GB/7200 is nothing to shake a stick at. :)
