1.) The Clamshell iBook is in the same league as Japanese-designed, IBM built 
ThinkPads and the Panasonic Toughbook. The original recipe iBook was designed 
for K-12 kiddies to take to school. The last Newton, the eMate, was also 
designed for the K-12 set. PowerBooks and iBooks started getting more fragile 
with the white "IceBook" and the TiBook. Oh well. And now from what I 
understand the new Lenovo-designed-and-built ThinkPad Z-series are 
uncharacteristically fragile.

Guess that leaves the Panasonic Toughbook.
