Further testing has ruled out the power adapter, the cleanliness of
the contacts and the connection to the motherboard, as all are sound.
I've visually inspected the motherboard and can see no obvious signs
of damage, but I'm no expert. It looks like I'll have to take it
somewhere or obtain a replacement board.
