This process of uncompress-recompress with lossy formats reduces the 
quality.  Just as with some DRM you can burn a CD then rerip it to mp3 
or ogg.  The industry seems to be letting this slide on the theory that 
it is a compromised copy (analogous to an LP to cassette copy) and not a 
perfect digital copy.
