Hi.
I've a thinkpad x40 and I think that today my usb controller is dead.
I had the usb mouse plugged and I plugged my nikon to the second usb port.
the laptop shut it down immediately, without any warning.
I turn it on and I see in the boot messages a lot of:
uhci (ehci?) ...... over-charge (change?) on .....
then I tried to use any usb devices (the mouse, the camera, an usb dvb
adapter) but nothing happens. I can see the red light of the optical
mouse turn it on when plugged but nothing else.
dmesg don't recognize any usb event (such plugging in devices); the
kernel recognize at boot the usb controller and loads the proper
modules ehci usbcore etc.
In Windows I've the same behaviour (usb controller recognized in
Control Panel but no event if I plug in something).
Do you have any idea of what happened?
thanks
antani
