Dear All,
Has anyone seen the following behaviour before?
1)Cold boot, into runlevel 1 with "linux single"
2)echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep
#Thinkpad suspends fine. Crescent comes on.
3)Press Fn key.
#Thinkpad wakes up again.
4)echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep
#Thinkpad hangs. It spins down the disk, but does
#not get as far as suspending. Can press Ctrl-Alt-F2
#to get a login prompt, and can type "root", but nothing
#happens thereafter. Alt-SysrQ-RSEIUB required to shutdown.
I've repeated this multiple times, with different kernels (2.6.16.20 and
2.6.17.7). Each time, the first suspend-resume cycle is perfectly OK,
but the second dies.
The machine is an A22p.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Richard
