Forgot to mention.

Go to www.lenovo.com/linux and you'll find linux drivers for certain
models and a Novell certified hardware list, which lists many ThinkPad
models.  I'd expect between the two, you've got a good chance of finding
a ThinkPad that works with SUSE.
