I'm still trying to get APM suspend/hibernate working on the thinkpad 570e,
running ubuntu dapper.
I created a hibernation partition with tphdisk, but whenever I try to
suspend/hibernate the laptop, the thing just locks up, hard.
I'm running the current Ubuntu dapper kernel (it's a 2.6.x kernel)
questions:
The hibernation partition-- what type of hibernation partition do I have to
make? is it a0 (IBM hidden hibernation)? Is it a regular vfat? My
thinkpad has 320 mb of RAM + 2.5 MB vram: is that too big for msdosfs?
when I change the partition type, do I also have to make a new filesystem?
Does the hibernation partition have to be mounted, and if so, how and where?
the kernel--would I be better of trying this with a 2.4.x kernel? all the
APM howtos for this model thinkpad are from the Debian Potato era.
I'm really at wits' end here, guys.
